National Oral Pathologist Day 2022

Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Dental College, Perambalur joining hands with the Dept of Biotechnology and Microbiology, Srinivasan College of Arts & Science, Perambalur, celebrated National Oral Pathologist's Day on 25.02.2022 in the occasion Dr R. Ramya, Head, Dept of Biotechnology, Welcomed the gathering. Dr N.Vetrivelan, Principal, Prof G Ravi, Vice Principal and Dr S.Kumaresan, Dean of Research, Srinivasan College of Arts & Science, Perambalur and Dr Sivakumar Kailasam, Principal Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Dental College, Perambalur felicitated the function, Speakers Dr D. Vijayalakshmi, Dr Sriram Chowdry and Dr M Sivagami, in their key note, explained Oral Hygeine and Oral cavity disorders and their progenesis with other Organ dysfunction concerns with sub maxillary and sublingual pathway. The arrangements for the programm were done by the concerns of both the colleges. The programm successfully ended with the Vote of Thanks bid by the Department Representative P.Anitha, I M.Sc., Microbiology.

Government Hospital- Perambalur, Srinivasan college of Arts and science- Perambalur(Department of Biotechnology) Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College,Siruvachur,Perambalur joined together and conducted the "Mega Blood Donation Camp" On 16.03.2022.

Dr. N.Vetrivelan has inaugurated the function.

Dr.Sathya and Dr. Kowsalya shared their thoughts regarding the healthiness of the blood in donating the blood.

In this camp 250 Students was registered and donated blood.

INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON CONTEMPORARY SCIENCES (ISCS - 2020) 06th February 2020

With the blessings of almighty and ever encouraging support from our Honorable chairman Ayya Shri. A. Srinivasan, An One day International Seminar on Contemporary Sciences’’ was organized by the Department of Biotechnology, Srinivasan College of Arts & Science ,Perambalur, Tamil Nadu. The event scheduled on 6th February 2020 was successful by the effort put up by the organizers. The Chief guests were Dr. Kumaresan Ramanathan, Associate Professor, Dept. of Medical Biotechnology, Division of Biomedical Sciences, School of Medicine College of Health Sciences, Mekelle University, Mekelle, Ethiopia. Dr. A. Mary Violet Chirsty, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Zoology, Government Arts College, Ariyalur. The enormous response was well recognized through the registration of around 120 participants from various colleges. The programme was started orderly with the Prayer Song followed by the welcome address conveyed by Mrs. R.Ramya, Head, Department of Biotechnology, Srinivasan College of Arts & Science, Perambalur.Hon’ Chairman Ayya Shri A. Srinivasan has concented to preside over the Function and the Honored the Chief Guest. Prof Dr. Dhayabaran, Principal, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Pharmacy, Perambalur. Dr. N. Vetrivelan, Principal, Srinivasan College of arts & science, Perambalur & Prof. G. Ravi, Vice Principal, Srinivasan College of Arts & Science, Perambalur felicitated the Seminar with words of Shower.

The seminar provided an interactive atmosphere between the resourse persons and the participants in which Dr Kumaresan Ramanathan conveyed a brief note on the “Circulating micro RNA expression profiling for potential diagnosis of human diseases” He deals with the circulatory miRNA have been anticipated as biomarkers of disease, including diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of treatment of responses. miRNA fine tune expression at the post transcriptional level through mainly binding 3’-UTR of m RNA . They are involved in many pathophysiological processes within cells and characterize major regulators of gene expression by benefit of their majority to target transcrition factors The presentation extensively describes the clinical aspects of microRNAs in both diagnosis and theraphy of various human diseases including neurodegenerative diseases,cardiovascular and diabetic kidney diseases ,where the later on session was carried over by Dr. A. Mary Violet Chirsty, in which she delivered a detailed talk on “A life style disease on Diabetes mellitus” and this session deals with diabetes is one of the largest global health challenges of this century. It is an extremely costly diseases both for individual patients and for our nation. The world health organization estimated the global prevalence of diabetes among adults over 18 years of age 18% in 2014.In 2016, an estimated 1.6 million death were directly caused by diabetes. Nearly 98 million people in India may have type II diabetes by 2030. Age overweight, sedentary lifestyle are the main risk factors of diabetes. Self management classes about diabetes and lifestyle choices may be useful in providing persons with information to help them maintain the best quality of life possible,given their diabetes and providing pre- diabetic persons information to help them avoid becoming diabetic. The Seminar to its credit has Presentations, includes Poster and Paper in which the First and Second Prize of Poster Presentation is won by the Conductee, and the Third Prize is won by the Dept. of Microbiology, SCAS, Perambalur. While for paper Presentation, the First and Second Prize is won by the Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Arts & Science College for Women (A), Perambalur and the Third Prize is won by the Conductee. finally the Seminar ended formally with the Valedictory in which the Organizing Secretary cum Head Presented the Valedictory Report and the prizes were distributed the winners followed by the Vote of Thanks bid by Dr.C.Muthusamy, Asisstant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Srinivasan College of Arts & Science ,Perambalur
